BreakPoint was formed in November of 1997 with a goal of providing the very best in musical entertainment to their audiences. Their unique blend and versatility allow them to perform a wide range of musical styles from barbershop standards to modern doo-wop and vocal jazz arrangements from the 40's and 50's to gospel tunes. In October of 1998, they were crowned Land O' Lakes District Quartet Champions of The Barbershop Harmony Society.

Meet the Members of BreakPoint

The members of BreakPoint possess a variety of musical experiences and talents:

His stylistic guitar playing is used in some of the quartet's performance. He has also sung in several barbershop and gospel groups. He spent two years as a full-time professional musician and also sang with the quartet, Taylor Made. He now works at Schmitt Music in Fargo.
The lead singer in BreakPoint is Brent Gerber. Brent is the musical director of Fargo-Moorhead's male chorus, Great Plains Harmony. He has sung in several barbershop quartets, winning the LOL title with The People's Choice in 1992. He is a Marketing Consultant in the insurance industry.
Singing baritone is Jeff Grieve, a former music educator who has also sung in a variety of barbershop quartets in recent years. You'll enjoy his solo voice, featured in several of the quartet's numbers. Jeff also sang with Taylor Made quartet. He now works for U.S. Bank.
Pete Benson, bass. Every a capella group needs a foundation and Pete Benson certainly provides this by singing bass with BreakPoint. Pete is currently the Director of Choral Music at the North Dakota State College of Science, and formerly was the director of Fargo-Moorhead Sweet Adelines. He recently became the director of the Great Northern Union (GNU) chorus from the Hilltop Chapter in Minneapolis.
