MHBQA Past Event: 2001 Mixed Harmony Showcase, Nashville

SPEBSQSA Convention, Nashville Tennessee
July 1 - July 7, 2001

This year there were seven groups performing on the Mixed Harmony Showcase. This has become an annual event, part of the SPEBSQSA annual convention, and put on at the request of the Society. The Society has asked Doug Miller, who sings with Minnesota's well-known VLQ Friends, (a member of MHBQA) to produce the show. Doug is always assisted by all of the couples who sing in that mixed VLQ. This year, each couple in Friends acted as a host for one of the performing groups.

The show began at 10:30pm on Friday evening, July 6th, in the Chorditorium at the Headquarters Hotel. Since this was still during the AIC Show, many of us (including myself) missed the first four groups. DARN! Again as last year, there was a nearly full house. The groups included are all MHBQA members, and are listed below. The groups I heard were great; I'm assuming that the earlier quartets were also well-received by the audience.
