The SALTY DOGS are a seasoned combination of accomplished musical entertainers. Veteran Barbershoppers all, they bring together many years of competition and notable show experience. Lead, Bob Dykstra, and bass, John Hansen, sang with the Hut Four -- LOL District Quartet Champions, SPEBSQSA International Contest Semifinalists, and a well-known show quartet. Tenor, Ron Thomley, sang with the Roadrunners -- District Champions as well and also widely known for their ability to entertain. Baritone, Wes "No-Medal" Hatlestad, is also an old hand at entertaining having sung with John Hansen in the popular trio Them.
The musical repertoire of the SALTY DOGS includes traditional barbershop harmony, gospel classics, country western and old-time favorites, and hilarious comedy arrangements. The SALTY DOGS style is characterized by close vocal harmony and toe-tapping rhythm accentuated by the accompaniment of a guitar and bass fiddle.
