================================================================ To: LOLnet@yahoogroups.com From: "Thomas R. Arneberg" Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2004 21:57:23 -0600 Subject: [LOLnet] St. Paul, MN chapter reunion: Tues, Apr. 20 The Greater St. Paul chapter (my alma mater!) is hosting a reunion party for all former members. (I think this is the first one ever, or at least since I joined in 1978.) It's Tuesday, April 20, 2004, from 7:00 - 9:30. It sounds really fun -- I might even drive 100 miles for it! (If I can get out of a dress rehearsal for the Dunn County chapter's annual show.) I put the PDF/acrobat version of the flyer invitation on the web: http://arneberg.com/bbshop/stpaul/reunion/ Here's a map of how to get there: http://tinyurl.com/2k4y6 I extracted the text from the flyer and will include it below for those unable to get to the web page. PLEASE FORWARD THIS to anyone you might know who was once a member of the Great St. Paul chapter. Thanks, - Tom A. Officer --------------------------------------------+------------------------ ====================================================================== Greater St. Paul Area North Star Chorus Look who's turning 1000... ------------------------------- Dear Former Member, Do names like Dowma, Chalman, Chapman and Teorey ring a bell? How about Night Howls, Twin Towners, Capitol Counts, Sands of Time? These were our heroes, more or less, and the fabric of the Greater St. Paul Chapter. And what about the Joe Barbershoppers holding down those riser positions through decades of shows and contests following the arm-waving of Street, Shannon, Stenstadvold, not to mention the many appearances at places like, Forest Lake, Hutchinson, Center City and Bird Island. Yes, the brotherhood of barbershopping took us to many places. For shows try Civic Center Auditorium, Highland Park High School, O'Shaughnessy Hall, and eventually, Maranatha and Benson Great Hall. Some may remember rehearsal venues like Jehovah Lutheran, Landmark Center, Mounds Park Community Center, Concordia College, St. Luke's School and Roseville Community Center. (more inside) ------------------------------- ...and who is turning 1000? We are -- sort of. If you take all of the years of experience of our current members and add them together, well, you get the idea. Here's what's happening. Tuesday, April 20th is party time. We're inviting back all former members (we can find) for a stroll down memory lane. There will be songs to sing, people with whom to renew acquaintances and maybe sing a tag or two. There will be artifacts from past shows, pictures -- maybe even some old uniforms. And, for sure, there will be stories to tell. If we haven't made it clear by now, You are cordially invited to the Greater St. Paul Area Chapter's ################################# ### "1000th Birthday Reunion" ### ################################# (we have to call it something!) Tuesday, April 20, 2004, 7:009:30 PM Now here's where we need your help. The old rosters aren't going to do us much good. If you still live where you did when you were a member, you're as rare as a baritone who likes to sing melody. If you know the whereabouts of any inactive former members, please call the contact person at the bottom of this page with any information you might have. We'll take it from there. Also, we would like to impose upon you to lend us any pictures or memorabilia you might have that would be of interest. We're planning on a significant display area. If you have any small prints, get them to us as soon as possible so our graphics jockeys can make blowups. The more everyone pitches in, the more fun it will be. Here's how to find us: http://tinyurl.com/2k4y6 The activities begin at 7:00 p.m. and will run no later than 9:30 p.m. We're at Elmwood Evangelical Free Church, 3615 Chelmsford (south entrance), in the City of St. Anthony. Chelmsford is 1/4 mile east of Silver Lake Road, or 1.2 miles west of 35W on County Road D. We hope you can join us for some harmony and reminiscing. A welcome badge with your name on it will be waiting for you. Questions?
