Picture Tour

Here is an idea of the location between CF and EC. It's a great location convenient to both cities! Quiet neighborhood, but only 1.1 miles to Highway 124; 0.8 miles south of Chippewa Falls city limits.
The kitchen is U-shaped (opening up to the dining area), with oak cupboards. Stove and brand new dishwasher are included.
The dining area is open to both the kitchen (to the right) and the living room (to the lower left). There are sliding glass doors out to the deck, and Anderson Windows opening up to the South.
The living area is the same large room as the dining area. In this picture you can see the open staircase and the bay windows (Anderson Windows with custom oak bench) facing South.
One of the bedrooms has a great built-in custom-made oak bed, complete with headboard shelves and a pair of dresser sets below. The kids love this one!
The recroom in the walk-out basement features a solid-brick wood-burning fireplace with a fresh-air intake from outside. It's actually more like a wood stove in there, surrounded on all sides by large foundation bricks in addition to the decorative bricks you see here. Also, it's in the MIDDLE of the house. The result is that you can easily heat the entire house, even at 20 degrees below zero. (I've done it many times!) (The forced-air gas furnace works fine, of course, but it's fun to get "free" heat...also, I guess this makes the house Y2K-compliant! ;-)
The recroom also features a custom-made built-in corner oak shelf/cabinet unit
The office features two sets of built-in oak shelves with glass covers. The previous owner was a good woodworker!
This is one view of the basement workshop
Another view of the basement workshop. That door in the center leads to a storage area under the stairs; the louvered door on the right is the furnace room.
View from east-northeast
This is the view of the garage from the south
Steps lead from the top level of the deck (out the sliding glass doors of the dining area) down to the lower level of the deck
Lower level of the deck is spacious and has spot for grill. Note the dog cage in the background
Front view of the garage, with the flower garden in the foreground. My wife is having trouble parting with her flowers... :-(
Front of house. The two windows are two of the bedrooms
Another view of front from a little further north
North side of house (you can see the swingset in the backyard on the right)
South side of house. You can see the bay window in the living room if you look carefully behind the poplar tree
View of the street. 114th Street (formerly Michael Street) is only one block long. At the north end there is a field that we use for flying kites, and a farm beyond that.
This is a closer view of the field at the north end of the street, a couple hundred yards from the house. The kids like to go watch the tractors in the spring and fall.

Utilities

Here are the utility expenses for last year:

Gas & Electric Other utilities
Pmt Date Amount
1/21/97 $179.75 Well water is "free" (pump use is reflected in electric bill)
2/21/97 $185.59
3/20/97 $124.79
4/18/97 $128.62 Septic service is $75 every two years, or $38/year
5/16/97 $ 93.85
6/18/97 $ 85.40
7/21/97 $ 77.61 GRAND TOTAL of ALL UTILITIES
(gas, electric, water, sewer):

$1406/year = $117/month

8/19/97 $ 76.62
9/22/97 $ 84.81
10/16/97 $ 95.68
11/14/97 $105.20
12/17/97 $129.90
TOTAL $1368

(Note that this is for a family of six, most of whom were home all day long. If you have fewer people living in the house, or are gone during the daytime hours, your utility costs may be lower. You'll also notice the low bills for the summer months -- air conditioning costs are very low, with all the shade trees and the ground-water heat pump central air.)
