On March 7, 2004, the University of Wisconsin Marching Band made its first-ever trip to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin! The concert was held in the gymnasium at Chi-Hi. Our oldest son is going to be in the Chi-Hi marching band next fall, and we brought our other four kids, too. It was great to see "favorite son" Jason August, Eagle Scout and recent graduate of McDonell H.S. in Chippewa Falls, now a drummer in the UW band. Other Chippewa Falls natives in the band include Chris Mehls and Erik Bieging.
(I used my Olympus c2100uz digital camera...I got pretty good results with the natural lighting coming through the upper windows, and was able to get decent shots even at 10x optical zoom with the stabilized lens.) (Note: if you want to get a print from one of these photos, be sure to click the medium-sized version to get a large 1600x1200 resolution picture.)
