On Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, the families of Tom & Beth Arneberg
and Jim & Joann Arneberg took eight of their collective kids (ages 4-12
years) bicyling on the
Old Abe Trail. We pedaled about 24 miles total, starting in Chippewa
Falls and going through Cornell to
Brunet Island State Park.
Unlike its more famous counterpart,
the
Sparta-Elroy Trail, this one is fully paved the whole way. (And it's not
very old!) The two four-year-olds were in the two trailers, while the
six-year-old and eight-year-old got to ride on "co-pilots." Everybody had a
great time, especially during the swimming stops!
